CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
November 2012
Seems as though we just zipped up the tents on the 2012 Season (if that last dude would just go home now) and it’s already time to open up applications for the 2013 Fine Craft Shows at Chautauqua. For all of the details click here.
As the Crafts Alliance has evolved over the past thirty years the growing emphasis of the organization has been to stress traditional fine crafts in its two shows at the Chautauqua Institution. After extensive deliberation the Executive Committee of Crafts Alliance Inc. has made the difficult decision to no longer include printmaking as eligible for participation.
CRAFTS ALLIANCE AWARDEES ANNOUNCED
August 2012
The Crafts Alliance has successfully completed its 30th season. A special thank you to all of our extraordinary exhibitors. The shows looked great and the feedback from the public was stronger and more positive than ever.
On behalf of both management and the exhibitors, a heartfelt thank-you goes out to our Volunteer Coordinators Pat Kirel and Val Wolnik and to their fabulous staff of volunteers. Their dedication to the organization and attentiveness to the exhibitors has made the Fine Craft Shows at Chautauqua a favorite among many participating artists.
This year’s Crafts Alliance Award for Excellence in July went to fiber artist Andrea Handy of Rochester, New York and in August to glass artist Randi Solin of Brattleboro, Vermont. The award is given based on professional quality of application materials, outstanding design and craftsmanship in the work and effective presentation in the booth. You can view images of Andrea and Randi’s work at our web site www.craftsalliance.com. CA President, Don Partch, joins me in congratulating the awardees.
Applications for the 2013 shows will be available on line at our web site around the middle of November.
